it has already begun.
ISPs these days are known to do traffic monitoring etc. to figure out what kind of sites people visit amongst other things.
It is well known that several goverment agencies have full access to monitor public internet traffic via devices installed at telco locations (e.g. telephone switch rooms, ISP datacentres etc.)
Big brother is already watching us, it is too late the internet is no longer what it was originally conceived to be
a decentralised open ad hoc network.
the goverments are trying to control what can and can't be available on the internet.
as a former computer hacker I am fully for privacy and for the internet not falling into and being controlled by goverment hands.
