sorry to hear of this winnie, any time an activist dies its a sad day, he looks like he could have had more of an impact than most activists because of his disabulity, if you don't mind me asking what exactly was his ailment? MS, other?

Anyhow he was a real fighter, to the death, may we have more people like him. My best wishes Patman, may your posative light shine down on us all.

I'm not good at poetry, so say this with a very slight london accent , my inept tribute to Patman,

who was a star amongst men.

Patman.

Commercialise cannabis is that so amiss.
I knew a man, who once said this.
He was sitting in a wheelchair,
Showing community care
Patman was his name,
Bright Jumpers he'd wear
MS, still he fought, and said how herb done him good,
fighting for his choice of medication, is that understood?
I saw him outside parliament we shared a bong.
Joyment and merriment was his true song.

He'd keep a good smile,I've saw him in pain,
enjoying his medication he jumped from a plane
bringing attention to the legalising cannabis cause,
He did so much, we stand and applause.

At 43 he's gone on a new path,
leaving his body here, to go and have a laugh.
For now Patman has gone to the Party on High.
I just wish to send him a herbal goodbye...

Very nicely written imo too winnie. The great ganja fields in the sky might not be such a bad place. I am sure his pain is gone and he is smiling somewhere.

Peace..

I believe he get's buried this Friday 16th.

Patman stars in the Video "Green Britain" where he was filmed taking a Parachute Jump.

He never let his disability get him down,

Hes also in the 30 years of Dutch Coffeeshops video, and we get a shot of him crying when Chris Baldwin gets his award.

Also we lost another campaigner this week on the same day as Patman.

which I'll post a tribute up to this man as well...

Eddie Ellison.

thanks for posting that link winstone.

I have owned a copy of 'green britain' for a while and so had seen patman and his amazing outlook in life and of course the daredevil in him doing the parachute jump etc.

he will be in the memory of many of us cannabis smokers/activists for a long time and will surely be missed bu those who knew him personally.

again thank you very much for keeping us posted and helping us remember the good times that patman had.

regards

Hi deliriumt. Patmans zest for life is an example to us all.

I've seen a few campaigners leave this mortal coil including Chris Baldwins mum Dottie (we all loved who was in the Green Britain, with more of our friends, and with Patman, doing his parachute jump, made the film for me. Paul Dooner did a good job and united many of us. whos friendships and love are still going.

I remember being with Patman, Chris, others when Chris was given his Golden bud award, there is a close up of Patman crying.

I was laughing with Jimmy Ward, how we had made his journey over to Haarlem and how it was so memorable by having a good smoke, many good things happened.

I mention this because you can see that film on this site, it was a good night I'll never forget.

The respect I have for Nol and Company for trying in the UK,made many peoples lifes mean more sense, and Patman was one of them.

I was with him at so many events.

This site is very special to me for many reasons.

And meeting so many real people in Stockport, Bournemouth, Worthing, Rhyl and Haarlem has made me feel part of a community that I want to give to, as its given me so much.

Patman gave unselfishly to the community.

Thankfully those smiles made us all smile along with his struggle.

Peace and Rainbows :D

Winnie
